🐍 Vintage Cobra 1000 GTL w/ Mic, Speaker, Pro Tuned, Re-capped, LED Meters 🐍

Description

This is a used but very clean 40 channel Cobra 1000 GTL CB base radio with original microphone, matching speaker (with talkback mod). There is no original box or user manual.
The radio had all the electrolytic capacitors replaced (I used only Rubycon, Nippon, Epcos and other Japanese caps only) and it was professionally aligned, peaked & tuned plus I installed new meters with LED backlights. I used a very unforgiving Radio Shack and MFJ wattmeter to illustrate the power output for demonstration purposes only, meters are not included. At just over 4 watts, modulation is set to a clean 100%, and the radio has been fully aligned per the service manual on the test bench with a service monitor and scope for peak receive sensitivity and very clean output signal. It
has been aligned to factory stock condition with just a slight modulation bump (nothing has been clipped or removed).
This radio is loud, clear, and with the new caps should last for many years of service or on the shelf as a collectible.
The pictures in the listing are the actual item you will receive. The listing is only for the radio, the mic, and the speaker. Meters and other items in the background are not included. I have tried very carefully to show any cosmetic defects in the above photos. The radio is a solid 8 out of 10, the speaker is a 7 out of 10 (shows a few scratches on the Cobra name plate). The only obvious wear on the radio itself are small scuffs on the bezel/faceplate around the knobs from normal use. All the knobs and rest of the faceplate look very lightly used, I tried to hit the faceplate with bright direct light to highlight the light scuffs and imperfections. All the switches and knobs have been cleaned with professional contact cleaning solution.
